Do not forget your bikes. Flat bike lanes and bike paths run throughout the area and are being added regularly. You can ride all the way to historic Fort Morgan (about 15 miles) then take the ferry to Dolphin Island and ride more (take plenty of water, sun screen and Gold Bond). Many options, like driving to Ft. Morgan and taking your bike across on the ferry. Just don't get caught and miss the last ferry back. It's a hundred mile ride back around the Bay.
Plenty of public accessd golf courses, if you're a golfer.
The park also has a zip line trail that runs along and crosses portions of Lake Shelby. It is privately owned and not cheap.
