Hello everyone. Does anyone stay at Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores,AL?If so I have a few questions.Life is a trip, ENJOY the ride.Safe Travels.

We stay at Gulf Breeze resort on county road #6 off Hwy 59. We have been told the prices at State park keep going up.George Farley

We stayed there for a week in March one year. Weather was warm that year but no one was swimming in the ocean. We like the c.g. and would love to go back. It is somewhat of a hassle to get a site, but worth all the aggravation.What do you want to know. Have you googled Gulf Shores S.P. - there are lots of people on this forum who go there.

They don't allow you to feed or aggravate the alligators...that includes walking your dog at night or allowing them outside. We had two visit while I was barbquing, (sp) and my dog wouldn't back down. After the second night we left.You do realize you are NOT on the ocean. The park surrounds several small canals that run inland. The ocean is several miles away by car...Dennis

Stayed there several times but it's been awhile. I roam around TX, LA, MS, AL & GA quite a bit. Gulf Shores is ok but I can't say it's too high on my list for that area. I wouldn't avoid a stop there but I wouldn't go out of my way either. The hurricane a few years back really hurt.

The dog can swim in the lake by the zip line. On one sign post there are 3 signs.Swim at your own riskNo life guard on duty andDon't aggravate the alligators.I don't think it's a bad place to stop if your just passing thru. We stay a couple days to rest, not much else to do except go catch a roll and we have never done that.

We spend a good bit of time at Gulf State. I'm 2.5 hours away so we go there frequently for beach trips. The camp ground is an average state park camp ground around here. The online pics make it look like you are on the beach, but as others have said, you are not. It does have a nice pool and splash pad for the kids. If you like gulf shores then gulf state is a convenient location. It's right on the coast so there are very few shade trees. Our sites are always 100% sun. WiFi sucks, our most recent site was 50' from the antenna and it still wouldn't work.

Hi Executive, thanks for the info. My sister has little snack size dog which would be a easy catch for a gator. Yep, I know that the cp is not on the gulf, but its close enough for easy access.

Hi ljr, by saying, I roam around a bit. Do you mean around the coastal areas? What other area would you recommend? I like to explore and try new areas.

Hi JCGibson. thanks for the info. The kind of info I was lookinf for. I have been trhough the park once when the brother in law and sister in law stayed there. I know its a beautiful park. Love the idea of the hiking biking trail. Two things I really like to do. I see fun times ahead.
