Hite, Utah area Camping & 4 x 4 Trails ?

Hmm that link has no relevant info, I suggest getting a copy of Utah Byways by Huegal, it has 65 mostly 4WD trips in Utah including Horseshoe Canyon to Hite Marina. The trail starts north of Hanksville on Hans Flat Rd which is shown as an 'easy dirt road' to Hans Flat and after that Orange Cliffs Rd is shown as Primitive RD. Looks like lots of interesting scenery on the trip. It is labeled easy to moderate with switchbacks and is 135 miles long. An all day trip at minimum. Get the book the path is too complicated to describe here.

If you get further west, Charles A. Wells’ “Moab, UT Backroads & 4–Wheel-Drive Trails” (3rd Edition) is a really good reference. The maps tab from the link provided by rr2254545 above shows a few camping spots and dirt roads in the Hite area but I’m not personally familiar with anything there.

Hite seems to be in Canyon Lands NP, there will be dirt roads for scenic drives, but I doubt you'll find any say 4x4 hardcore trails. JMHO never been there.

There are some other good drives in Capitol Reef, Cathedral Valley-Caineville Wash and Hartnet Rd for 2. Neither hardcore 4WD but good trips anyway. There are a lot of others

Before you reach Hite from the East on Hwy 95 there are some trail off the North side of the road. Not many great places to pull over and camp. Once you reach the Lake/River continue on about 11 miles until you come to the narrow part of the sandstone canyon. Have seen people camped under/near the trees. There are a few trails going into the slick rock. Continue on another 16 miles (almost to Hanksville) to BLM 15210 (BLM road). We camped on the West side of Hwy 95, all BLM. The trails from here to the West will take you above treeline and the trails on the East side will take you to the Dirty Colorado River. One of the best trips we ever, we had side by sides with us. Every micro climate there is in one location. Can get hot even in early May.

Sand Flats Recreation Area at Moab has camping and trails. Hells Revenge is the advance trail and Fins and Things trail is more tame but challenging.

Thanks for the other recommendations but I'm only interested in the Hite area with Moderate Jeep trails.

If you back track a bit back to the Bears Ears area, there are lots of moderate trails. Look up Doll House Ruins. Lots of nice roads on the west side of Natural Bridges NP. Also some nice roads just east of Hite area.
