It's Sunday morning of our last day here at Hocking Hills KOA in Logan Ohio and am sad to be leaving. We've discovered this campground a few years back and have been extremely happy we did!! This is a wonderful campground to stay in. The sites are huge and the campground is meticulously kept. The owners and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is kept extremely clean and well maintained. I can't say enough about this place! The few complaints some may have is something out of the owners control. The drive up into the place is steep and very bumpy but we've found out that it is a county road that the owners have asked repeatedly to fix but to no avail. The campground itself is hilly but I think it adds to the character of the place! It's really a beautiful place to stay and just down the road from some fantastic hiking. I highly recommend this place! Side note on a couple restaurants: Pizza Crossing in Logan is fantastic and highly recommended. Also if traveling down to the Lake Hope area, Mama Renie's in McArthur is also recommended for the food and friendliness of the staff! Overall a wonderful trip and highly recommended!
We are frequent visitors to Hocking Hills and totally agree with your assessment of the campground and the restaurants. I cant believe you found Mama Renie's, since its not a normal tourist destination although great pizza. The dining hall at Lake Hope and Hocking Hills are now run by a new couple of guys who specialize in homemade BBQ. Excellent food now and a far cry from normal SP food. Great Sunday buffets also.
