Hot springs Arkansas camping

We are looking for a campground around there that’s on a river or creek for the kids to play in. We found one in the forest park but it’s first come first serve. How do people handle those? Do you drive 7 hrs to get there and find no sites Available? What do you do after that.

Also looking in Ouchita too if there is something around a river too.

X2. They have a nice swim beach and last time we were there (5 yrs) they had pontoon boat and I think kayak or canoe rentals. From what I can remember, the sites were decently sized and the bath house was pretty clean

  • Thanks. They say there is full hookups but no showers in the bathrooms?
  • We stayed at Gulpha Gorge Campground and had no issues getting a site. Time of day, day of the week and the season will of course have different results. Kids have a great creek to play in and the campground is nice. All sites are about equal in convenience. If you plan your arrival time is the key.
