How long can I visit United States in 1 year
Hi, I am new to this forum and Snowbirds. My husband and I are travelling to San Diego mid November (2016). I know we can stay a max of 182 days. We will be coming back to Canada in April 2017....

USA, with the now enforce rules, it works out to 120 days per calendar year, if you go each year.
If you go exactly 120 days each year, you MUST fill out form 8840.
but it's a formula 1/6*120+1/3*120*120=180. (180 is the IRS threshold).
also 1/6*180+1/3*180+90=180 so if you max out your time for a couple of years, in the third year you can only spend half the time and you're still obligated to submit form 8840.
This has nothing to do with immigration rules.
