Definitely get a Progessive's Industries surge protector and meter. It will tell you the amps being drawn and protect your system from low voltage situations. On top of that, you need a pen sized digital volt meter, to check for a hot skin situation which can occur when pedestal power is bad. A lot of RV park owners don't want to believe their pedestals are faulty, but three times in one trip we confirmed it by showing them. For one it was a private owned RV park, and the others were a FS CG and a state park. Each time after showing them with our meters, they then moved us or fixed it while we ran on our generator. Having these precautions on hand can save your life and a lot of money worth of damage to your rig.
