After 11 years of being a RVnet member and reading the Snowbird comments since my first year, I get this vague feeling that the amount of comments in this section have really lessened over the past few years. Do any other long time readers have the same feeling? This year seems to have the fewest amount of questions and comments that I can remember...and this is November already. Is there a way to tell how many comments have been posted on RVnet by year to make a comparison? I realize my query is not very significant but I need to take a break from all the election TV ads, mailers, and talk shows and do something else for a change.

Could it be less and less new Snowbirds joining us and the old Snowbirds know it all by now.

Some, but not all, have figured out how to search for answers to questions that have been asked dozens of times.

We have many less Winter Texans in South Texas than 10 years ago and many of the few new arrivals want to rent or buy park models, Mobile homes or condos rather than arrive by RV.

Yes, there are fewer and fewer RV snowbirds as many of us have aged and bought park models, mobile homes, and even stick & brick homes in or near our favorite parks. I know as I aged, it took my wife and I longer to hitch up, and longer to get there. We just had less and less time to enjoy park activities after we actually settled in. After that, we eventually sold the RV and even took to flying to our winter home instead of driving 1250 miles to get there. Even Nick Russell, owner, editor, and writer for the Gypsy Journal has greatly reduced his RVing time by buying a home in Florida. I imagine his and my experiences match many of yours.Just as, years ago when I thought the Snowbirds post should have been divided into Snowbirds and Winter Texans, now I think that Camp Cooks and Connoisseurs and Dutch Oven Cooks should be two different posts.Still, I hope my favorite forums last forever -- especially since I finally learned how to spell connoisseurs!

Where I am located in Southern Arizona, Snowbirds are already arriving early and in heavy numbers. This is both RVers and persons who own or stay in a home/apt.

I'm still RV snowbirding, but I suspect I'll be shifting to something more CO2 friendly in the next couple of years.
