We are also considering stopping in Marfa, TX. In your opinion, is it worth a stop?

We really enjoy that part of Texas and have based our stay in Alpine--Lost Alaskan RV Park and visited surrounding area. If you are going to do Big Bend--then I suggest moving closer using parks down that way. Another suggestion is the McDonald Observatory of the Univ. of Texas. Check their website for star shows and viewing times. Enjoy the area.
