We are also considering stopping in Marfa, TX. In your opinion, is it worth a stop?

When traveling through West Texas, we stay overnight (or longer) outside Fort Davis. Davis Mountains State Park has FHU and is in a great location, and makes a nice springboard to see Marfa lights, Fort Davis National Historic Park, the McDonald Observatory (Star Party!) among other things. If you are into cutting edge modern art that makes absolutely no sense to most of us, then you will love Marfa.
