If you're a fan of contemporary art, I highly recommend the Chinati Foundation. Then again, if you're a fan of contemporary art, you've probably already heard of it.
But it's a unique experience because of its setting. You have to take an escorted tour because it's spread out among a bunch of buildings.
I regret not visiting the Donald Judd place--maybe next time. Prada Marfa is a hoot.
I think the Marfa lights are cool, and they've never failed to show up when I'm there. The guy at the Food Shark trailer in Marfa is extremely friendly to tourists.
Since you're from Vancouver, Washington, I think a swing through the area, including Marfa, would be interesting if for no other reason than as a cultural oddity.
