Jacks Gulch CG

West of Ft. Collins, CO. doesn't take reservations for elec. sites( I don't normally make them anyway). Any opinions on difficulty of getting a site second week in September arriving on Monday or Tuesday ? 37ft MH.
Want to do some hiking and back road exploring.
All opinions appreciated.
Thanks.

One of my favorite spots! I have been there many times and hiked all that country while a Back Country Ranger for the USFS.
The camp sites are nicely separated both electric and non electric. You will not have any trouble getting a site during the week. In fact there will be very few campers there. It is very quiet except for Mr. Bear who comes around at night to invade the dumpsters. Keep everything in your vehicle or camper. The weekend is busy but generally not full.
I was there about 2 weeks ago and the road from Hwy 14 to Jack's was washboard so you have to just take it slow. There are many hiking trails in that area and the Old Flowers Trail out the rear of Jack's eventually goes to a crash site of a WWII B-17.
PM me if you need more info.

+1 on this, during the week, won't be a problem at all. Be aware that it's in the general area of the High Park burn scar, and therefore that whole area is subject to flooding. We are in our monsoon season now, and it's been raining for the past 2 days, clearing trend supposed to start for the weekend. Monsoon season usually ends in August, but the flooding last September in this area was something of an anomaly; just be aware of the changeable weather out here!
