  • Last year they increased the pet friendly areas quite a bit. As well as improving their roads.
  • You might want to scout it on a weekend without the 5er. We went once, but at the time they severely restricted pets so we haven't been back. I think I was most worried about the spigot locations to make sure I had enough hose to refill w/o moving the TT we had at the time. It is a very pretty park, but not much to do in the area. Crisfield is shall I say.....fading?
  • Yes, some of the Janes Island campsites are plenty long. Lots of them list 60 ft. driveway length.

The reservation web site lists the driveway length for each site and you can filter sites by trailer length. You can even see them on a map so you can be near the water if available.

Janes Island is real neat place to kayak. I really liked it. I especially liked kayaking to the beach that is on the bay as it is very peaceful and quiet there.

  • We were at Janes Island last year with our 32 footer. We would not take anything more than a 35' RV in there. The roads are good, but you really have to be careful what site you are trying to get into....there are a lot of trees to maneuver around on the sites. We were able to make a scouting trip without our RV and pick and reserve a spot we felt we could maneuver into. Typical of many state parks, it can be tricky. It is a beautiful park, but the wetlands that surround it and offer wonderful fishing and kayaking, also host mosquitoes and biting flies. We are not going back.
  • When we were there last July the Mosquitos and biting flies were unbearable, especially at night. The folks that know said they should have been gone by then, but they weren't. Try to get a site away from the marina area. I thought it would be neat to have a view of the marina, unfortunately we also overlooked the fish cleaning table and the smell can be pretty bad.
  • There are some larger sites.I believe we stayed in site 1 in the B loop.We have a 25 TT plus TV.It is a nice park but at the time we were there the bathrooms could have used some work. There is a beach but you need sometime of boat to get there. We used our canoe. It's about a 15 minute paddle to get there.
  • There are photos of all the sites at the reservation page. The information includes site length and driveway length.

There are designated sites for pets and some sites have electric. Some sites may be a tight squeeze, evident by the pictures, and some that are very wide open.

It is a wonderful place to kayak and fish, definitely worth the trip.

There is no water at the sites but there is water available.
  • It appears there is electric at some sites, but no water. Is this accurate?
  • We loved Janes Island. We are kayakers, enjoyed the water trails.
The sites vary quite a bit in size, believe only a few would accomodate your rig.
The park staff are friendly and helpful, suggest you call and ask.
