One caution is check out where the EAST WEST RAILROAD runs on these towns that are situated along the I40 corridor. These trains roll just about every ten minutes or so all night long.
FLAGSTAFF AZ is a good example of this... Kept me awake for sure...
When traveling we always use GOOGLE MAPS with RV CAMPGROUNDS in the search form. This shows campgrounds all along the route you are on. Mouse click the campground for more info along with reviews etc... Yo can also zoom in with GOOGLE EARTH VIEW and in most cases get a real good look at the campground. GOOGLE also has the PEOPLE side views all along the route as well. Might even get to see the office and parking lots etc...
