Lancaster County, PA Area

We enjoyed the Amish areas of Indiana so much that we want to visit the Lancaster area. Can someone recommend a reasonably priced rv park, preferably one that does not cater to families with children, with the playgrounds, pool, etc. Just looking for peace and quiet and a level site with full hookups somewhere in the Lancaster County area (big rig friendly). We do not mind driving the Jeep a ways for a better rate.

I think you will be disappointed in Pennsylvania Amish country. Fully commercialized take your money fast place. Outlet Malls, four lane busy highways etc LOTS of traffic. Better you should look at Ohio Amish country. Centered around Berlin, Sugar Creek Ohio. Nice peaceful area

I'll second that not being true. Yes, if you go to the commercial areas you will get that. But if you venture into the country you will find lots of local ambiance and roadside stores.

Having said that, the Amish Experience attraction is an amazing place where you can get very informative country tours that provide insight into the culture and history.

  • We stayed at Beacon Hill Rv Park last week. Caters to adults. You can walk to the town of Intercourse.

It's quiet and a great place to stay.
  • On our last trip to that area we stayed at the Beacon Hill RV Park in Intercourse, PA. We were right across a narrow street from an active Amish farm and enjoyed the farm work going on. We would definitely go back there.
