Lancaster Pa
Thinking of stoping somewhere in or near lancaster on the way home from picking up our rv. We will not have a car due to flying out and driving back. Any recommendations.

It's right in the middle of almost everything...- Old Mill Stream is nice.But there are some nice Pa State Parks in the area.Gifford Pinchot,Codorus or our favorite Pine Grove Furnace.All have electric,dump stations,bath houses etc.
- If you want to do any of the touristy stuff, Old Mill Stream. As stated before, it's in the middle of everything. If you have young kids, it's right beside Dutch Wonderland. It's also within walking distance of some shopping outlets and restaurants.
If you go to the state parks, there is nothing within walking distance as far as restaurants or shopping. So if you have no toad, you'd have to make sure you have what you want/need before you set up in a state park. - Oak Creek is great. We will be going for the second time this year next month.
Bruce - We camp in the Lancaster area a few times each year during the spring, summer and fall. I think in your situation I too would suggest Old Mill.
- Another plus for Old Mill Stream. There are several campgrounds in this area and most get good reviews. We do stay at Old Mill Stream several times during the year. It just raised its rates so it is one of the more expensive campgrounds now in the area. The people who run it are nice. They just redid all of the "T" spaces - two rvs in one space in a "T" - into regular single back in sites. The "T" spaces used to be a complaint from some - those sites are gone now. They are also no longer open 12 months a year and are now closed from the end of November until the beginning of April.
- Another vote for Old Mill Stream, plus you used to be able to rent a car thru Enterprise and they would deliver and pick up the car there, not sure if they still do so check first.
- I live in Southern Lancaster County and offer this advice: If you stay at Old Stream and intend to walk to resturaunts, be very carful of Rt 30. There is no good place to cross the highway and people are killed and injured there regularly.
