Location near Salt Lake with electrical

Any recommendations for location near Herriman, UT just SouthEast of SLC? Visiting family with no place to park, so just need electrical for a few days in May. So far not finding anything close.
  • Try this, I do not know anything about this park. I looked on S & T'S and found it. About 12 miles from Herriman.

    Good Luck

  • We have relatives in Sandy and visit the area often.

We always stay at Mountain Shadows RV Park, just off I-15 in Draper.

The spots vary a lot, so it helps to know in advance which ones are good if you reserve ahead. I could help if you decide to go there, especially if you have a big rig.
  • Thanks for the suggestions, it is appreciated.
  • Ardell Browns park closed some years ago when Camping World got involved and moved his dealership to Draper.

In the whole Salt Lake area there are only 3 commercial parks.

Mountain Shadows is closest to Herriman.

There is a KOA on North Temple, approximately 18 miles further north, and a new park even further north in North Salt Lake called Pony Express.

It's kind of surprising to me that in a area of about 1.5 million people, there are only the three parks.
  • It's a ways away, but Utah Lake SP or the KOA in Springville may help. They are both in the Provo area, southeast of Herriman. Probably farther away than the SLC KOA (which is our go-to place in the area) and definitely farther than the CG in Draper. Both have hookups (the SP doesn't have FHUs but you are apparently needing only electric.)

Almost true, but there are a few others, farther out. In Davis County, just north of SLC, there are a CG at Lagoon (the amusement park) and Cherry Hill CG (which may still be operating) in Kaysville. Brigham City has a half-decent KOA and another private RV park of similar quality. There are a few SPs in the mountains, and at the north end of the lake on Willard Bay, as well as a no-hookups one on Antelope Island.
  • We stayed at Mountain Shadows two years ago and found it to be a pretty nice place, although a bit close, but tolerable. It had both 50 and 30 amp hookups and the staff was very helpful when we were there. After traveling around Idaho, Nevada, California and through Zion, this one didn't seem that expensive.
