Looking for "a halfway spot" Coeur D'Alene to Bend

You could also try the Port of Arlington RV park. Arlington is only about 15 miles west of Boardman.

We stayed at Boardman in May this year on our way home from Coeur D'Alene and it was a beautiful park. It was a little windy when we were there however we would definitely stay again.

The poster didn't quote the whole thing! It clearly says:

"2). Phone calls, as well as letters, will be accepted beginning January 2th, 2017,
for that year.
3). Faxes, emails and walk-ins will be accepted beginning January 17th, 2017.

For some reason the cg is saying they will only accept letters for over Christmas vacation 2016. Guess maybe they are overwhelmed during the vacation time. When we lived in Klamath Falls and made trips to Baker we would stay here and make it a two day trip. It is a great place to be on the water.

Have stayed there a few times. really nice place. Wind can be a problem though.....

Just say this on the Boardman Marine & RV website:

1).Beginning December 1st 2016, we will accept letters only, for reservations for 2017. Please mail letters during the Thanksgiving week so that they arrive on, or before the 1st.If received before Thanksgiving week, we will mail your letter back.

Since you're taking two days, take the scenic route and drive south to Lewiston and then cut through Walla Walla and down to Pendleton and then take 395 through Ukiah and Dale and then take 26 west to Prineville.

There's a ton of forest service camping to be had in that stretch from Ukiah down through Dale that's beautiful and free, and far nicer than any RV Park. You're only overnighting it so hookups shouldn't be an issue.

And actually while I'm thinking of it you could cut off of 395 at Long Creek and then cut over to the west to Kimberly and then south to 395. That would take you through the painted hills and you might even score a famous peach around Kimberly. I'm not sure when they harvest those, though.

One of out trips we need to change our route and go through Baker City instead of always going through Bend...

Boardman RV Park & Marina without a doubt one of the best choices to meet your needs. .... right on the Columbia river ... inexpensive ... LOTs of grass and a very nice paved walking path if you choose to use it. This park, in my opinion, is a hidden gem.
