- Dannyabear1ExplorerYou can pull your camper right up to the sites at Sherburne WMA
- bgumExplorerMy neck of the woods. The map I looked at calls for boat access only. They are 8-12 miles from the nearest road phone or home. We have to go right by them to get to our duck hunting camp. These would be good for hunters or Boy Scouts only.
- RoyBExplorer III spent a good 30 minutes reading thru everything I could about FREE primitive camping in louisianna. They sure don't give up information on what kind of camper you can use... It appears that the some 30 new sites they identified as FREE identified by a single numbered POST in the ground in the area and probably a TENT site only.
When you look at photos of all the various camp sites in this area you do see alot of RV campers...
They also list charges for various things at those places as well depending which site you at.
I guess it must be just this one site Atchafalaya Basin in Louisiana that is new free 36 sites??? When you look at the many other places you find charges and different info... Crazy reading...
I finally give up trying to find out what you camp in at free sites...
I havent camped anywhere in Louisianna so would be interested as well how there system works.
Roy ken - EsoxLuciusExplorerSounds like they are for tent camping, not RVs. Do you know? Looks like most of them are only accessible from the water.
