LVegas to Oregon via Nevada - parks?

Hello and thank you in advance for any ideas.

Want to drive appx 5 hrs per day. Prefer FHU but looking only for overnite stay so don't need much more than that.

Is there a website that shows maps with parks along an interstate? When its a route we are familiar with its easy enuf but when taking one we are not, it would be so helpful to look at a stretch of road and see towns/cities and then search for parks in those.

Thank you again.
  • Give us a starting point in Nevada and ending point in Oregon and perhaps you will receive more suggestions.
  • thanks for the replies.

    Shamrock looks perfect!

We want to travel route in Nevada not California .. so would go US95 north.

We plan to do this trip in springtime.

thanks again for any other suggestions.
  • Where in Oregon are you going? I infer that you prefer Interstate highways. If that is the case you would be going on I15 to I5. You plan to travel about 275 to 300 miles per day. That would put your first stop about Bakersfield. Orange Grove RV Park has been a favorite of friends of mine. Interstate 5 through the central valley of California can best be described as BORING. You may want to add a little drive time just to get through it.
  • One that I can recommend is the Shamrock RV park in Reno. It's easy on/easy off the freeway and within easy distance to the downtown area or up to Bonanza casino (great restaurant there). LINK We've stayed at the Shamrock a couple of times......clean, easy to park in and reasonable rates.
