Looking to take a short trip to Mackinaw City so we can visit the Island... Does anyone have any good tips on campgrounds in the area that are big rig friendly >?

There's no taking a toad to the island. The ferry transports people, pets and bicycles only. The island is mostly vehicle free except for emergency and maintenance vehicles.
I think he's referring from the campground to the ferry.
