Go visit MELLO MIKE's blog and see what he does with the Truck Campers... Amazing stuff...
The first you have to deal with is are you going to be a RV TRAVELER or a RV Camper.
The Motorhomes are mainly for creature comforts and for the most part would not do very well back on the off-road forest service roads... Being a Jeep guy I have got caught in some place where the Jeep didn't do well.
I am pulling my off-road high wheeled POPUP camper with my 4WD F150 truck back up into these places around the High Country of Virgina and up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway... There are some great challenges along the VA/WVA wooded high country state line...
We manage to find some back areas with creekside camping spots and the only thing we get to see is the wildlife and the fish jumping in the springs...
Been doing this since my Arizona high country days back in the late 60s but have to admit the back country around here is starting to draw more folks then before... Have no idea how the security of things will continue these days with the bad working situations for folks that are possible living in the woods to some degree now trying to survive. It may be getting less safe now to be out by yourself...
just some of my thoughts..
