Midwest race track camping

We were the group with the 'deer' and the beer belts during the tour, so we were drinking with you! After that we fired up the honda and watched the end of the Packers pre-season game. We always have a pickup that we use to get around as a group and also a golf cart for small runs. In fact, that was the only time we used bikes the entire weekend, I guess we are lazy. Well hopefully we cross paths next year!

Then we watched you pedal by while having margaritas. We use mountain bikes to get around the track all day so actually pedaling "around the track" isn't high on our list. We're usually too tired (old) by then:)

I saw your setup at the Grand Am/ALMS weekend. Whenever I went by, there was nobody around. Road America is absolutely a fantastic track to camp at. 50th Anniversary SCCA Runoffs are coming in September. It will be the last time for awhile as they move back to Road Atlanta next year.

Runoffs

The Grand Am/ALMS weekend was simply amazing. Huge crowd. The area we camp in was almost 100% full (it's usually about 1/3) yet everyone was well behaved and very quiet at night. Knowing the screaming cars will wake you up by 8am gets most folks to sleep early.

Kalamazoo Speedway, the world fastest 3/8 mile, always has room for boon-docking except the October weekend. I think the web site chasinracin has information on tracks all over the country. I may have that name wrong. it's something like that.

Eldora is great camping. One of the best dirt tracks in America.

Back when I did Eldora almost every one camped in tents. Many drivers slept in vans and the well healed drivers had a class C. Everyone shared a campfire and the cooler. You really had contact with the drivers many who went on to be very successful. There was a dirt track that we also frequented within a half hour-hour of Eldora that I can't for the life of me remember the name. Anyone??

We are camping at Eldora for the Nascar truck race - it will be our first time at Eldora. We are really looking forward to it, we reserved 2 spots so it wouldn't be so crowded.
