Along the way near Arco is the first nuclear reactor.
Snake River canyon is on ID/OR/WA border.
Could do a loop through ID on US 20 & US 26 north on US 95 and then east on US 12. This will go through many different areas of ID.

On your way between Yellowstone and Glacier, you should pass the national bison range which is a good place for a stop.

Do a Google search for `______ tourism' and put in the blank the State you are interested in. Read what the experts recommend for their area.

Try to get by the National Bison Range. Neat way to spend an afternoon.

The Little Big Horn Battlefield in Montana is very interesting

You would have to retrace your steps somewhat but it would be worth your while to go to the Durango/Silverton/Ouray area of Colorado.

Soak in the mineral pools in Ouray.

Drive the Million Dollar Highway

(are you towing or renting jeep?) Never mind see your Sig now. They have great jeep trails here

Even if you just spent 2-3 days it would be worth it.

Up around Glacier, Canada is great – Flathead Lake – Fly fishing – a night and Dinner at one of the Lodges (Prince of Wales would be my choice but all are great) if possible just take a day to sit back relax and Breathe (might have a beverage of choice) When in the right spot this might be some of the best air on Earth, love to just take IT in.

As has been suggested the San Juan’s and the SouthWest of Colorado, with your rig you will find some of the best 4X4 trail anywhere. Having traveled all over this country this is an area that never disappoints, just so Wild and so Accessible, never have had a bad day.

Go to the Lewis & Clark expedition museum near Great Falls for a most interesting look at the events of over 200 years ago. Visit the Big Hole area around Jackson and Wisdom in SW MT for great photography and stop by the Big Hole Battlefield while in the area, lies between Wisdom and Chief Joseph Pass.

In Missoula the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has a museum that was interesting. At the airport is the smoke jumper base. They give tours. You can see what they do when they are not at fires. Just outside Phillipsburg is a place where you can mine for sapphires. They also have a small cg there that was free to use. We did find sapphires in every bucket.
