- LantleyNomadI quit going to any of the big 3 years ago. I prefer Myrtle Beach State park.
Maybe I'm showing my age!
I've come to prefer less action people and excitement vs. more action, people and excitement - dodge_guyExplorer IIMy vote is for Pireateland! We walked the beach down to OL's. Wasn't impressed. Sites on top of each other seemed very congested!
- Wjohns02ExplorerA vote for Lakewood. Been going there for 30 plus years. Tried Ocean Lakes once, too busy for us. Never camped at Pirate Land.
- lawrosaExplorerCarolina pines is the new one that just opened recently. Big water park on site but not sure if its open yet.
I work here in myrtle and watched it be built.
The good thing is its out near rt 22 and youll stay out of that crazy summer traffic.

If you have to be closer to the beach then one of the others..
ummm not pirate land though..
I would say ocean acres, but its a mad house there - 2Rad4UExplorer IIIFor the kids, Ocean Lakes.
We've camped at all 3 several times each. For adults I'd pick Lakewood.
I was not ever impressed with Pirate Land.
All three have similar amenities. Ocean Lakes is the nicest, especially for the kids, IMO.
