just got my Senior Pass, age 62! So happy!!! Hubby already had one for a few years but thought I might as well get mine.:)

Disabled veterans receive a free pass good for life time. Not sure of the percentage of disability required for free pass.

You have to do the math each year. Big parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon can cost $25-30 now. 3 visits might be cheaper.

You can also look into regional passes. Some regions with more than one park/ national monuments offer a pass for parks in the region for a lower fee.

If you have more time than money you could always volunteer 250 hrs and receive a free volunteers pass. Of course part time job would more than cover with fewer hrs $80.00.

The pass now offered is $10.00 and it is good forever, unless you lose it. My wife just got one the other day, I have had one for several, several years. It is supposed to go up to $80.00 in the near future. You have to be 62 when you purchase it.
