We stayed a week this last Christmas at Camp Gulf in Destin. You can park right on the beach if you want but there is no shade. Some of the sites back away from the beach did have some shade but they are a few hundred feet back. It is a little pricy but very nice. Speed limit in the park is 4 1/2 mph. Don't break that or you will have a golf cart chase you down. There is also a SP there (Topsail Hill) that is beautiful and shaded but probably a quarter mile from the beach. Better get your reservations now and it may be to late.
