- BadDogPSDExplorer36+ miles north of Wells, just past mile marker 111 is Oneil Basin road.
Its on the left/west side of the highway. There is room to overnight by the fence.
The road is gravel, but is well maintained.
Boies reservoir is 8 miles down the road and is a nice place to camp, and the fishing is normally pretty good too. - Steve76ebExplorer

I saw that a couple days ago. Read there was some primitive camping at the reservoir. Depending on time of day, we just might head into Jackpot and spend the night, but wouldn't mind checking out Boies. It will be one of those last minute decisions I suppose. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIIf you want to stay around Jackpot, here's where we stayed and here are my notes. The price is probably higher now:
Hwy. 93. 20 mi. N. of Jackpot, NV. At Rogerson & the Sinclair Station, take the Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir Dam Rd. west for 10 mi. It’s paved. Just before the Dam on the left is entrance to Lud Drexler BLM Park. We stayed in the campground. Very quiet, spacious sites. Clean, smell-free chemical toilets, table, firepit, grill. Dump station. Water wasn’t turned on yet. Beautiful view of lake & distant snow-covered mtns. $5 or $2.50 w/Golden Age. Just down from the campground is free boondocking at the water’s edge but a lot of fishermen used it & it was busy with traffic. N42 12.460 W114 43.888 - Steve76ebExplorer

Thanks for the info. I will keep it in mind for future use because I know we will not be going further than Jackpot. With 2 kids, The 520 miles to Jackpot is about what they will be able to take before driving my wife and I crazy with the "I'm tired of sitting here" talk.
