Maybe I am just missing it's hidden charms...
Quartzsite isn't a 'charming' town. It's a 'happening' in Jan/Feb.
If you like flea markets and rock shows it's the place to be. It's also a place where groups of like-minded folks enjoy getting together for some socializing - family gatherings, friends meeting ups, RV manufacturer groups, geocaching groups, 4-wheelers, etc. etc. You name it there's a group there to join in and talked about your specific interests. We've gone with a specific group for many years and sometimes don't even venture into the market areas anymore. It's just about being with friends and doing activities together.
(I didn't see why you liked the place in Tucson you stayed in recently either.) Everyone is different, for sure.... and that's o.k. :)
Well I can see your point for sure if you already belong to a group of folks that use it for a special purpose...but just to plop down and spend a season? there are just so many much more scenic spots where showers dont cost $7 for that. My take on the OP was they were just thinking of a good place to run out the season.
And I would say that equating Tucson as a destination to Quartzsite is altogether apples and grapefruit. But your point is taken.
