New to Boondocking near Quartzsite/BLM

We are planning to visit the southwest winter of Jan Feb 2018. When boondocking near Quartzsite we will have solar panels for electricity, but are concerned about where there is enough water to replenish our fresh water tank. Are there showers close by so as to conserve our fresh water?? Any info would be helpful. Any other thoughts or information would be welcome!!! Thanks so much..
  • I'm here right now. Crowds are gone, weather is perfect, and all the rain has grown lots of weeds which are in bloom and I can't stop sneezing.
  • Why Quartzsite? Because everything RV can be found there. New, Old, upgrades, & repairs. The latest in must haves? Oh and I forgot, meet people from the last time there.
  • Also there are many Rv parks with full hook ups.
Check Quartzsite website. They have a nice visitors booklet.
I stayed all winter last year. Going back again next winter.

I might add it has a great winter climate. Much of the time it's shorts and tee shirts.

    Call me if you wish.
  • There are 900,000 that will disagree with Fulltimedaniel, so I'll leave it at that. BTW, we've been going there for over ten years now, and one thing we've noticed is the lack of any insects whatsoever.

As for water, in addition to LaPosa, there is a place in town called The Pit Stop that sells it either by a time metered hose (approx 6gal) or unlimited for filling an RV tank for a few bux. Pit Stop is a full service dump and refil station, both tanks and LP. Just stay away from there in the morning when. The early risers show up and you can have a line well out into the road
  • Water is at South LaPosa, about 3 miles south of town. No showers I'm aware of.
  • This may not be directly to your point but It escapes me what people see in Quartzsite. It's truly one of the ugliest most flyblown towns in all of the area.

There are just so many nicer places in that corner of the country. I have always scratched my head at what the attraction is there...except free. But to each his own.

Maybe I am just missing it's hidden charms...
  • I've never camped there, but I know there are trucks in the area that provide water and empty your tanks at a cost. I'm sure someone will chime in with more info.
