I have not stayed there but live not far from this campground and have seen it. It is pretty much a parking lot adjacent to the beach with hookups. This is a county run campground and there are residents and non-residents rates. If you are coming in May it won't be beach weather yet so you should have no problem getting a site. Make a reservation just in case. It is not bad and with your tow vehicle you can easily get around to get to where you are working. As was said, you cannot access this with a trailer on the south shore parkways (or ANY parkway in NYS). Expressways are OK. Parkways are not. Travel with the trucks and you will be fine.
