No heat in northern home all winter.
With the high cost of keeping heat in our Illinois home all winter while we are gone I am considering turning off all heat to our house. I already turn the water off and blow out the lines and winter...

My Dad retired in 1984, he passed away in 2012.
Summer home was in Cadillac Michigan, spent the winters in Zepher Hills Florida.
Never spent a winter in Michigan after 1984. Never kept heat on in Michigan house, while he was gone.
Didn't keep the A/C on in the florida house, while in Michigan either.
If you are careful to blow out he water lines, dump RV anti freeze in the sink traps and toliet bowls, it will be fine.
