I live in New Brunswick, have a seasonal home in south Florida.
Just activated a new Shaw receiver and the Technician after doing his thing told me that he was going to refer me to "HAFH Department" that is their "Home Away From Home" Department for us Snowbirds.
Well the gal there said that the use of Shaw south of the border was over with. She "claimed" that the service would not be available to anyone in the USA from now on.
So....I guess as you people have been discussing, is that the "Party Line" from Shaw i.e. are we now into the Bell scenario prior to 2012-07 meaning we use it and keep our mouth shut or are we out of luck signal wise like Bell after 2012-07?
If the poster here that is heading south in July can keep us posted---great, if the service is gone I guess I will put up a digital antenna & save $500 for my six months or suck up that American TV on Direct TV.
O'Well nothing lasts forever just kind of discouraged with the money wasted (?) after changing from Bell last year.
BTW Future Shop are selling 600 type receivers for $49 until June 13th but I may return mine seeing as I cannot use it in the USA!...just kidding but they are selling them for $49!
