Shaw does not control it's satellite. It leases space on a Telsat Canada bird. The latest satellite was designed to service Canada. Shaw will loose it's old satellites as Telsat retires obsolete equipment.
Shaw is not licenced by the FCC to sell TV in the USA. As the service migrates to the new satellite, the old service will be turned off. Not tomorrow... but it's over folks.
Deal with it! Shaw will gradually loose the ability to transmitt a TV signal to the lower 48 states.
