I am still not sure if we will be able to receive Shaw Direct in Florida when we return in late October this year hence don't know if we should package up our receivers and take them. We were ok last year using the big 75 CM dish in Florida & our 600 receivers. We were put on the HAFH (Home Away From Home) Plan
Here is our situation, if anyone can tell us what to expect or what they think we might expect we would really appreciate it.
We changed from Bell to Shaw Direct last August a year ago (2012-08) we have the 600 type receivers, got two with the initial purchase & bought one a month after (2012-09) also bought another a few months ago (2013-06.)
The LNB & dish used in Florida is similar to the one installed on initial hookup in 2012-08 except it is the big one (75cm) it has these markings on it: Triple Satellite Quad Output Switchable xKu LNBF.
I see on Shaw Direct's site that one can test to see if one is ready for the new satellites
hereWhen I check as directed on here I get this: ie
Are you ready?
To access the new channels you may need to upgrade your satellite dish, receiver or both.
To determine if a hardware upgrade is needed, simply open your Shaw Direct Guide, navigate to channel 988 and press the Info button on your remote.Well my receivers shows that I can get the channels....now does that mean we will be out of luck when we plug in our receivers in Florida?
Thanks for any help, comments etc, appreciate it.
