Northeast Snow Campgrounds Open?

We are the crazy Floridians heading north for the first time in our RV while everyone is heading south. Right now we are in Williamsburg, VA and my wife who has been booking places is having a hard time finding spots that are open during the winter. We want the kids to see snow and are also considering the New England area as our next home.

Any park reconnections or sites to look at to make things easier?

I don't know of any off hand in Connecticut, except to try calling directly (if you can reach anyone) the campgrounds. Some are kinda "open", but don't have running water.
  • I'll second Meredith Woods. Normandy Farms in Foxboro, MA is another.
  • Most NY SP CG'S are closed, one exception is Allegany SP (see reserveamerica.com)
Allegany Sp is not far from the ski areas of WNY and Niagara Falls (which is unique in winter)
  • There are not many campgrounds in New England that remain open year round, as you've noticed.

Here is a list that may be helpful. Note that it may not be entirely up to date, and that some of these are only open for seasonal campers during the winter although they accept transients during the summer.

Boondocking may be an option, though finding open dump stations (in particular) can also be challenging.
  • Goodsam website lists campgrounds open all year see below
