See, this is like Tom Sawyer and the fence painting -- a famous (and hilarious) scene. Just as Tom hoodwinked his buddies into painting the fence for him (because he persuaded them that it was an honor and a privilege), we have to convince our camping companions (DH, DW, or whoever) that half the fun of boondocking is in playing the "game" of resource conservation: water, electricity, waste water capacity, and so forth. It's fun to outsmart the inherent limitations of an RV and to camp in comfort in the middle of nowhere.
Of course, part of the battle is convincing OURSELVES that this is fun. Let's be honest: it is a lot of work. But unlike most chores at home, these chores are coupled with undeniable fun -- doing whatever it is that we enjoy, in the boonies.
