Ocean Canyon Properties

Anyone have any experience with Ocean Canyon Properties? Camping World supports them.

Going to spend some free nights at Abita Springs in April! I'm Sure we will get a hard sell! Would appreciate any comments on this organization!
  • Camping World doesn't "support" them. OCP is just another outside merchant who pays CW for the ability to have access to their customers.

Having spent almost 30 years in the Dallas area we've been to OCP, and heard their sales pitch several times. It is not for us.

However we know several local families who cannot take long trips, but make a lot of weekend trips with their kids to the area and regional OCP campgrounds. And love the convenience and amenities.

It works for some folks, and doesn't for others.

Personally we roam far outside the OCP area, so something like TT or Coast to Coast (owned by the same company as CW) would work better for us.

But being old farts, the U.S. govt Senoir Pass is our choice.
  • We stayed in that cg and got the sales pitch. It wasn't bad. Less than 2 hours and not high pressure. Wasn't for us at the time. It may be ok if it fits your style.
  • I am not a member, but stay at some of their resorts free with my ROD membership. I have stayed at Mountain Lakes in Alabama and like it. It was on the Tennessee River. The resort really catered to boaters, fishermen and week-enders. I have stayed at Abita Springs. Other than location, I was not overly impressed with the CG.
OCP memberships are expensive depending on how much you are going to use it. If you are interested in staying at their resorts, you could do better by buying a membership in a less expensive resort that offered ROD. Then stay a OCP for free.
