Ocean Canyon Properties

I often receive a postcard from Ocean Canyon Properties inviting me to visit one of their campgrounds.

It has the Camping World logo on the card. What is the relationship of Camping World to Ocean Canyon?

  • I was at Styx River a week ago and am at Mountain Lakes Resort now. Styx is fairly new to OCP and its an old former KOA acquired in the last 5 or so years. The roads are in bad shape and narrow so for big rigs its quite tight. The camp sites are dirt and not the most level. They have lots of plans for improvements but we spoke with a couple that are members there and they told us that they have not seen anything done in the past 2 yrs. The club house and café are nice though.

Mountain lakes is the complete opposite. Its well maintained and the facilities are very nice. The camp sites are gravel and grass and level but could be a tiny bit bigger. My only gripe is there are lots of people that bring their own golf carts with them and seem to just drive around the CG for something to do. Its been a constant parade of noise and dust. Just a peeve with me. I would still come back to Mountain Lakes. Its nice.
  • Ocean Canyon Properties owns several membership resorts in the Gulf Coast states and is an affiliate of Coast to Coast, which is owned by Good Sam Enterprises. As one of our affiliates, we allow them to market their resorts to our Good Sam members and Camping World customers. The Camping World logo on the card (if it's the same one we received from them as a sample) is in reference to the fact that they provide a $50 Camping World gift card for anyone that visits the resort and tours their property.

I hope this addresses your question, let me know if you have any further questions on this.
