Ocean lakes mess

The high fives was the nightly parade and part of nightly ritual. The security guards were doing their jobs walking in between the carts. Do they give an occasional high five? Yes good customer service and making the guests feel at home is part of their job.

Out of curiosity, what activities did golf carts stop you from doing?

A it safe to assume you did not have a cart or a rental?

If you don't like golf carts, then you might want to head to north myrtle beach to someplace like MBTP. But be forewarned, the residents there do have golf carts. Not like the other places with rentals.

We just returned from a very disappointing stay at Ocean Lakes. The golf carts were out of control, security guards walked through the chaos giving high fives to the the kids in the golf carts. We are a family of 6, 2 of which are teens, so we are used to chaos, but this trip was anything BUT relaxing, and even the teens were happy to leave. The out of control golf carts made it impossible to enjoy the activities we were there for. We will need to try some of the other campgrounds I've seen suggested in the previous posts.

We've been noticing at least 5 or more security on the nightly parade strip this year. They have also stopped it at the end of the road on the south end of it. They are staying active with checking kids for their age, I've seen them confiscate beer from adults and other various things. They aren't just standing around not doing anything. Even saw one the other night running after a kid that was going up and down the road in between the carts.

Just returned from week at Pirateland after staying prior year at OL. Vowed never to go back to OL with young kids due to crazy carts so tried Pirateland and was very happy. Yes still alot of carts but by 11pm, they are all gone and it was quiet. In addition, majority were adults using them. Also, recommend far left hand side which was not as busy as the nightly parade was on right side under watch of security. Security was very noticeable.

In addition to Huntington State Park another thread reminded me of another local state park Myrtle Beach State Park
