My rig being a 2007, I've been asked about its age when calling ahead for reservations, but I've not yet been refused on that basis. But it'll only be 4 more years . . . .
While it's been towed from coast to coast twice as well as down the left coast, and sometimes sports a coat of fresh road grime, I'm easy on my stuff, and it's otherwise in perfect repair, and I plan to keep it that way. I have been to campgrounds around the country and seen permanently parked rigs that looked ready for the landfill. And I know that several places, Los Angeles being one of them, there are people full-timing in some pretty disreputable rigs due to general poverty. It's a step above living in a tent under a bridge, I suppose. I suspect that CG owners don't want their campground to turn into a homeless encampment, thus have such rules as an excuse to turn away people they don't like the looks of. While "I just don't like the way you look" is likely to result in violence, "I'm sorry, but we have a 10 year rule . . ." only makes 'em grumble.
