- fla-gypsyExplorerI'm still trying to figure out why the Ocala National Forest camping is closed until May 20. That county has little to no cases and there is very little development nearby.
- Yosemite_Sam1ExplorerHave checked on BLM campsites. There is no notification of alert it being closed.
But when I called the number, it gives a recorded message that their office is closed.
I guess if it's not gated, I can risk it. But it's a bit of a drive and it will suck big time if I have to turn around with boulders blocking the entrance. - GDS-3950BHExplorer

I'm really interested in the Delaware State Park Campgrounds.... As of now, the parks themselves are open for certain things, while camping has been delayed till May 15.... for now....
FWIW, I received an email this morning from your PA DCNR that they have extended their closure of State Park Campgrounds from April 30 until May 8th. We have sites we booked 11 months out from May 17 through May 31 in PA at 3 different PA parks, so hoping that it doesn't move again, but from what I read your PA Governor is a flakejob also like the Gov in VA, and is very vague with any dates or timelines but lots of talk about regions and counties, testing and tracing, etc. Since the reservations are all on the Eastern Side of the state where it appears most of the cases are, we're not getting two excited about actually being able to use them. Good luck with DE.
Just received word that Private Campgrounds in PA will open This Friday, May 1st.. AND ALL STATE CAMPGROUNDS will open Thursday, May 14th
Thanks, I read that somewhere this morning, but riddle me this.
Your governor allows private campgrounds to reopen May 1 where the campsites are typically so close to each other that a lot of times your awning will rub the rig next to you, but your state park campgrounds will not open until 2 weeks later and from my experience the state park campsites for the most part are huge with plenty of room between them, which is why we enjoy it so much? Whatever, I quit trying to figure out the logic because they use none.
Your Governor must be a moron like Northam in VA, who is still adamant about keeping everything locked down until June 10th.
I cannot speak for Gov. Wolf in PA.. he is just unliked by many.... I'm guessing that he doesn't want to put state employees that close to the public??? I do not get it either :h
I am a PA transplant but am still there in that neck of the woods at least once a week usually. Seeing that most of those parks operate on the PA shoestring system as they have for like forever, maybe that's the case but I doubt it. We're lucky to ever see a ranger drive through where we camp, and the gate/contact station is only manned on Fridays and Saturdays between the big holidays. Other than that or seeing the part time maintenance / cleaning folks it's usually fairly peaceful and serene.
How many times has that wacky Secretary of Health you have changed the death count in the last 3 or 4 days? I think if you crash a bicycle in PA and die from massive head trauma they'll deem it as a Covid 19 death, and then they may take it off the list the next day marking it up to head trauma, then add it back as Covid next week LOL. Does anyone know if Colorado BLM land will be open May 1 for boondocking?
Colorado state is opening up. State parks should follow.
BLM, however, is federal and may wait for national or state-by-state or regional declarations of opening. - Yosemite_Sam1Explorer

You may have to check on BLM's own website on that. Or call the BLM office with jurisdiction on the particular site.
But it's not as simple as that. You have to contend with the state or city regullations specific lockdown rules. And the states you have to cross to get to the location. - cross21114ExplorerDoes anyone know if Colorado BLM land will be open May 1 for boondocking?
