- Monty-RobExplorerThank you for the great suggestions.
I looked up a number of the RV parks and they really look good! - LaurenExplorerWere there for the 5th time this last summer / fall. Love it.
Ken is right; see the lighthouses - all different and all very interesting. I love to photograph them.
North to south is definitely preferred.
We love Cannon Beach in particular but also stay in Newport, Winchester Bay, and Bandon.
All different and wonderful. - RollandBExplorerOne of our favorite State Parks if you are near Tillamook is Cape Lookout. Short walk over the berm to the beach, some good hiking trails and the Tillamook cheese factory is a short drive.

How about visiting some of the lighthouses?
Get a copy of the tide tables, pick a low tide, and investigate some of the tide pools.
The Oregon SP's have great CG's.
Great info, thanks so much for those links. I saved to Dropbox.
Thanks to all also for the campground info. Hope to get to Oregon some year. - 4runnerguyExplorerHow about visiting some of the lighthouses?

The Oregon SP's have great CG's. - bikendanExplorerwe just got back today from a 6 week camping trip, through NorCal, SoCal and Oregon.
most of it was at coastal campgrounds.
we do love Harris Beach. also really enjoyed Beverly Beach SP. right between Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. - rollexxExplorerYou're heading north early enough in the year so getting into State Parks especially Sun. Thru Thurs. should not be an issue. Weekends at some may be a problem. Harris Beach, Bullards, Sunset Beach, Tugman, South Beach, Beverly Beach, Nehalem Bay, Cape Lookout, Fort Stevens...All State Parks and all very nice. IMHO Harris, Beverly, and Fort Stevens the top 3.
Neat little towns to check out...Bandon Old Town, Florence Old Town, Newport Bay Front, Cannon Beach.
For good eats...Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay, the view alone is worth stopping. For the best Fish and Chips on the Oregon Coast bar none, Bowpicker in Astoria. - jbbrickExplorerBe sure to stop at Bandon, neat little town and great harbor. Just north of it is Bullards Beach campground, really nice RV stopover. Maybe take the mail boat ride up the river from Gold Beach, lots of fun. If you get inland to Winston you can drive an rv thru the Wildlife Safari park, you can go thru twice on one ticket and they have a small rv park for dry camping on the premises for about $10/night I think.
- oldcat1ExplorerWe have done this route many times. Our favorites: Cape Blanco SP- isolated but huge private spots, Bullards Beach SP- Bandon is a great little beach town, Harbor Vista County Park in Florence-lots of stuff to see and do in this area, Beverly Beach SP-midway between Newport and Lincoln City with a beautiful beach. As other have said, you can't go too far wrong with any Oregon SP, there are lots of old restored lighthouses and some of the best coastline anywhere.

Can you reverse your route? The coast is best viewed north to south.
As for stops? Any of the Otegon State Parks are excellent, plus Brookings harbor county park, Winchester bay County park are excellent stops.
x2, and you are not crossing lanes of traffic to get to the pull-outs.
