Oregon State Parks Policy Changes

"If your plans change and you need to change your departure date for reservations of 6 or more nights, you will now only pay an $8.00 transaction fee. You are no longer responsible for the nightly rate of each night you cancel. To ensure fair access to all our customers, we are not able to extend this policy to changes of the arrival date. If you need to change the arrival date, you will pay an $8.00 transaction fee and the nightly rate for each night you cancel."

Good policy change. It has always been the arrival date change that was abused.
  • No surprise - formalization of informal policy - and the weather is getting lousy so might as well advertise to get more campers. Wish they would put in Senior discounts and all yr camping permits.
  • Every OSP we have hosted at has always issued a credit if you leave early as long as you contact a host or ranger and let them know.
  • Good to hear the arrival date is not able to be changed without full penalty. I wish Michigan would adopt that policy for it's State Parks. Overlapping popular weekends by booking a two week stay (ending with the popular weekend) and then cancelling everything but that popular weekend is such a transparent abuse - why don't law makers recognize this?
