Ouachita RV Park Monroe, LA

This park was rated a 9 on the RV Road Trip Navigator 2012 program. Stayed there on way southwest. Had had lots of rain so much of park was flooded and what was not under water was muddy Problem could have been better if there had been more maintenance, such as gravel on drives and sites. Dog park was unusable due to weeds. Did more research and could't find park on RV Park Reviews. Good Sam site had lowered rating to 7, which is still way too high. Beware of ratings on RV Road Trip Navigator - they are not current.
  • Know what you are speaking of; not with this park, but with others. We have reservations in Las Vegas for May: Good Sam 9-10, RV Park Reviews much lower. Sometimes it is just a******shoot. But then we are only there for a few nights or less.

I've never been to this park, but I grew up within an hour's drive. When spring rains start hitting - there ain't nothing that can be don to avoid the type of problem you describe. No more maintenance is going to solve low ground water problems. No one can mow in that type weather.

Yes, they could have spend a couple hundred thousand dollars on gravel and landscaping - and charged you more than double what you paid.

But Monroe is just really a slightly built-up swamp. Dry ground becomes hard to find at times.

Yes, ratings are subjective. Different things mean different levels of ratings to different people.
