Spent a few days at Hatteras KOA last May. Wonderful spot, right on the ocean. Campground was in nice shape, but there's been a hurricane through there since then. Jim Cantore was right across the street.:)
We rented a car in Kitty Hawk as we passed through and ran down to the Hatteras Lighthouse. Plenty of seafood restaurants and kitsch-y places.
