Or could be too many people using electric heaters costing the park more than they collect for the campsite? :@Matt_Colie wrote:
The best was the park that shut off the electric, I guess they were afraid that might freeze.
I could understand electricity freezing in Michigan. :)
You're probably right but, I still like the freezing electricity theory. :)
As you know, Pennsylvania winters can be rough. But, compared to Michigan, Pennsylvania is Key West.
Enjoy your travels.
Taquamenom Falls State Park in the UP of Michigan is OPEN all year. It offers electricity also. Must be electricity only freezes in Minnesota;) - Bill_DianaExplorerSo....huskyfan88....did any of the suggestions help you find a campground?
- 1775ExplorerOld Mill Stream in Lancaster is open all year.
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIYou will find a lot of them still open with electric and sewer but no water hookup.
Really is not a problem because their shower/bath houses water are still hooked up because they are heated buildings. Use them for your showers and bathroom needs. That's what I did on the way south during the winter months while traveling thru the midwest. - gboppExplorer

Enjoy your travels. - RGar974417ExplorerPromised Land is fairly close to the New Jersey border.Pickerel Point Campground is on a peninsula on the southern side of Promised Land Lake State Park. The area has 75 campsites and three camping cottages. Limited sites and the camping cottages are open year-round. An unguarded swimming area is at the end of the peninsula. The campground offers rustic walk-in sites, electric sites and full hook-up sites with sewer, water and electric on site. An ADA accessible campsite is available. The entire area has two shower houses with laundry facilities and one restroom. Designated sites are open to pets.
I can add the full hookup sites are not open year round. They are electric only sites. We stayed there last year in late October and one of the bath houses was open. They are fairly new and very nice. - Bill_DianaExplorerOak Grove Park is open year round and they do get quite a few RV's over the winter months. The campground has very level sites with good hookups. Located in Hatfield Township which is about 35 miles north of Philadelphia and about 30 miles south of Allentown. You can drive the PA Turnpike from the campground and be in NJ in about 40 minutes. And yes, they have a few folks that stay for extended periods of time.
