Depending on what you consider a "natural campground", you won't find much in the Palm Springs area. Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert etc. etc. is known for golf and shopping not 'natural' camping. Anything north of I-10 will be in the windy side so try to avoid those in Desert Hot Springs. We prefer, Motorcoach Country Club, MCC, but understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. Desert Shores, DS, is another but they don't allow pets, so if you're traveling with yours, that one is out...
