Having lived in the San Bernardino area most of my life, I would not recommend you stay in San Bernardino because of the bad crime rate. I would recommend Reche Canyon Campground in Colton CA. Here's a link:

If your wife is going to be admitted, you might check with the hospital to see if they have any sites for RVs. Many do.
