- PAThwackerExplorerWe camp at PA state parks with our lab with 6 ft leash laws in effect. However in the water we areallowed to use a 25ft floating leash when swimming. Common sense to not do this near a swim beach or populated area.
- MerrykaliaExplorerWe agree with Hunting Island. We have labs and when we had two, who are now deceased, we would go up on the north end, also. We got caught by the ranger, but he just told us not to do that anymore...we didn't. I would guess that 95% of the people camping there have dogs with them. It's amazing how many you see.
Also, James Island County Park outside of Charleston has a great dog park that is on a peninsula, so the boundaries are water. Dogs can swim, splash, run, etc. It's great. - HappyCamper89Explorerhttp://www.thecapeescape.com/Pets.html
We stay at St. Joseph Peninsula State park. Gulf loop is very close to the ocean. Dogs aren't allowed on the beach within the state park, but are allowed on the rest of the island at all beaches. - Markiemark32ExplorerGreat campground, and beach allows dogs:
Hunting Island SC
On the far end of the beach, the time we were there, no people, so Chewey got to run a little (leash rules are in place, please know your pup)!

x2 :B - soricobobExplorerThe nicest in the East is Four Paws Kingdom, NC; in the West is Blackwell Island, ID; in between, they have an excellent, new dog park at Redshoes Coushatta, LA.
